The line-up
A line-up is the players a side puts into a game. Every game fixes how many that is, and a squad usually carries a few more than it fields.
The tag. The name a player goes by in the game. On a professional jersey it is usually the tag, not the surname, that goes across the back.
Starters and subs. The starters play. A sub comes in between the games of a series, not in the middle of one.
The captain. The one player who speaks for the side to the officials, and often the one who makes the calls in the draft.
